This is an outdoor activity in an open shelter. While participants should have plenty of access to shade, everyone is encouraged to dress appropriately for excessive heat this weekend. We'll have some big fans going, too, which should help. If it's too hot for you to join us during the day, consider coming out overnight when (hopefully) it's a few degrees cooler.
If you have a favorite meat you'd like to cook on site, we'll have charcoal and other supplies, and there are a couple of grills. We usually throw some burgers and hot dogs on the grill around 5:00, but you're welcome to fire one up anytime.
Reasonably clean, air-conditioned restrooms are located next to our shelter.
A General or Extra Class RATS Control Operator will be on site for the entire event. If you are unlicensed or only have a Technician class license, you can still participate in our HF operations under the supervision of a control op, and of course we're happy to show you how.
Hams seeking talk-in assistance to the event will find us on the club's 146.88 repeater. Call for W4RAT. Others may email
info@rats.net or text Steve Crow KG4PEQ at 804.227.5798 for assistance.
