The weekly RATS net meets every Wednesday at 7:00 PM on the W4RAT 146.88 MHz repeater. All properly licensed amateurs are welcome to participate. Learn about local ham radio activities, meet your fellow operators, and ask questions during this weekly forum. Limited ham radio-related buy/sell/trade activity is also permitted. The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Wakefield is offering an Advanced SKYWARN Spotter Training session on Thursday, November 21 at the Chesterfield County Central Library, 7051 Lucy Corr Blvd. This class starts at 5:30 PM. Space is limited and registration is required.
SKYWARN Spotter training is offered as two elements: Basic and Advanced. Basic training covers the identification of common severe weather events and reporting procedures. Basic certification is a prerequisite for the Advanced training, which goes into more detail on severe weather development and basic radar interpretation. Certification is good for three years and may be renewed by taking either the Basic or Advanced class.

The monthly meeting of the RATS Board of Directors will occur Wednesday, December 4 at 6:30 PM via Zoom. All club members are welcome to attend.
RSVP/registration not required, but encouraged. Registration will cause a reminder email to be sent two days before the meeting. We will also send an email to registered participants regarding any last minute changes to the program, Zoom access information, or other details.
