The Rappahannock Valley Amateur Radio Club (RVARC) will be providing communications for the annual Marine Corps Historic Half Marathon in Fredericksburg, Sunday, May 19, 2024 starting at 6:00 AM. They're looking for additional volunteers. If you are able to assist, register here and we'll pass your information directly to the event coordinator, Jim Rubin W4PKR.
The RATS 146.88 repeater has been reserved for the Bike MS: Colonial Crossroads 2024 bike ride between Richmond and Williamsburg, June 1-2. Amateurs available to volunteer for this event are asked to contact Arthur White N4TRQ via email. Amateurs not providing communications for this event are asked to use a different repeater while the bike ride is in progress.

A large number of volunteers are needed for the Virginia Special Olympics Summer Games, Friday and Saturday June 7 and 8 at the University of Richmond.
The only equipment needed should be an analog UHF HT, a battery in good shape (and perhaps a spare), and an external audio accessory that allows you to hear and be heard in a high noise environment. Please note that most positions will be outside or potentially strenuous.

We need help with the setup of the Summer Field Day site at Laurel Park on Sunday, June 23. This starts with pickup of equipment from the club's storage unit near Chesterfield Town Center around 9 AM. We should arrive at Laurel Park between 10 and 11 AM to begin putting up antennas, setting up club radios, and completing other assorted prep work to get the station on the air by 2 PM.
Summer Field Day 2024 will be held at Laurel Park in Henrico County the fourth full weekend in June. Additional details will be shared soon.

We need help with the tear-down of the Summer Field Day site at Laurel Park on Sunday, June 23. This involves taking down antennas, dismantling the club radios, packing everything into storage boxes, site clean-up, and the transport of club equipment back to our storage unit near Chesterfield Town Center.
Tear-down activities will start around 11 AM and should wrap up by 2 PM.
