July 2024 Membership Meeting

  • 19 Jul 2024
  • 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM

Registration

Registration is closed

The monthly RATS membership meeting will be held Friday, July 19 at 7:30 PM via Zoom.  All are invited to attend.

Our presenter this month will be Steve Crow KG4PEQ.  Steve will present "How to DMR" - a beginner's guide to DMR radio basics, navigating and using the DMRVA+HEARS statewide DMR repeater network and its available talkgroups, and calling procedures.  We'll look briefly at how to register for a radio ID and how to get a radio on the air quickly using a RATS codeplug, but other advanced and more technical topics such as codeplug creation, data/messaging applications, hotspots, and non-DMRVA repeater networks, are out of scope.

Those with even a few weeks or months of DMR experience may find this presentation a bit elementary.  This is targeted at new and inactive DMR users, especially those who may have a radio but who don't regularly use it.
